Destination: The Somerset Levels
Date: 1st & 2nd February, 2013

Summary:

A small team of photographers, bird watchers and naturalists from A Focus On Nature gathered together in Somerset to explore the magnificent Avalon Marshes wetland complex on the Somerset Levels. The team were led by Simon and Joe, who knew the sites well and were able to provide a platform for the group to learn from one another. Visits were made to the three main sites in the area: Shapwick Heath (Natural England), Ham Wall (RSPB) and Westhay Moor (Somerset Wildlife Trust). The experience was inspiring, as a result of the spectacular wildlife seen but also through the knowledge sharing and bonding that took place amongst the participants.
