The aim of ‘A Focus On Birdfair’ was to give a group of young people the chance to explore the unique environment that is the British Birdwatching Fair. Five youngsters, comprising two filmmakers, two photographers and an environmental journalist, all with a passionate interest in wildlife, set about creating a short film, asking “”What does Birdfair mean to me?”, in this, the 25th year of this box office event.
To date, Birdfair has raised over £3 million in direct funding.
It has just celebrated it’s 25th year, and is still going strong.
It represents a powerful collaboration between the Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust and the RSPB who have coordinated the event right from the start, and supports the work of BirdLife International.
It is overwhelmingly reliant on it’s volunteers and small but efficient team of staff.
It is supported by a fantastic selection of companies and businesses from around the world.
It covers ALL of it’s costs before the gates open, so you can rest assured that all of your entry fee goes straight to conservation.
